The chief purpose of The Daniel P. Amos Family Foundation is to glorify God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, by supporting charitable and community organizations in their mission to improve the community.

The Daniel P. Amos Family Foundation was created for the purpose of making philanthropic donations to any charitable organization the Trustees deem appropriate. The mission statement of The Amos Family Foundation is broad and can be changed. The Foundation’s mission statement reads that it will donate to organizations that “improve mankind’s condition.” The Amos Family Foundation Trustees are encouraged to include Christian organizations in their distributions.

Geographic Area of Grant Focus

The Daniel P. Amos Family Foundation accepts grant applications from the geographic area defined by the sixteen counties of the West Central Georgia Health District* and Russel County, Alabama. Organizations outside the defined geographic area may submit a grant proposal online.

General Guidelines for Grants
The Daniel P. Amos Family Foundation seeks out organizations/ministries that:

(1) demonstrate effectiveness (2) exercise collaboration (3) adhere to best practices
(4) strive for sustainability 
(5) document outcomes (6) Align with Amos Family Priorities
 

Demonstrated Effectiveness: Present a clear record of how your organization has effectively delivered the services proposed in the grant request. Over what length of time were the services delivered? Does your organization see increasing effectiveness, decreasing effectiveness or no change in effectiveness over the time covered? If your grant proposal is a new venture for your organization? Please submit a clear record of other new ventures effectively implemented.

Collaborative Funding and Work: Specifically, what other sources of funding have you procured FOR THIS GRANT REQUEST? With what other organizations do you plan to collaborate in delivering the services proposed in this grant request?

Best Practices: Demonstrate your understanding of “best practices” as the term applies to the operation and governance of non-profit organizations. Document your organization’s engagement of best practices in the delivery of the services proposed in your grant request.

Sustainability: Present a documented picture of your organization’s ability to sustain services/ministries in coming years. What are your organization’s biggest challenges concerning sustainability?

Documented Outcomes: What specific OUTCOMES are you planning to achieve with the actions involved in this grant request? What specific tools will you use to identify and measure, hoped for, outcomes because of implementing the actions proposed by your grant request?

Amos Family Alignment: How does your organization’s mission, and your specific request, align with the values of The Daniel P. Amos Family Foundation, and where does the request connect with the foundation’s priorities: to better humanity and build a healthier community?
 

Priorities & Restrictions

Amos Family Foundation makes charitable grants only to 501(c)3 organizations as classified by the IRS Code of 1986ff.
Amos Family Foundation does not make grants to organizations headquartered outside the U.S.
Amos Family Foundation does not make loans to individuals or to organizations.
Amos Family Foundation does not give to social clubs or booster organizations.
Amos Family Foundation does not give to political or legislative advocacy groups or organizations.    
Amos Family Foundation generally does not give to endowments.
Amos Family Foundation does not make grants for the purpose of paying previously incurred
Amos Family Foundation generally does not give for festivals or conferences debt.
Amos Family Foundation may give, resulting in naming opportunities and public recognition of the gift.

Board meetings are held quarterly in March, June, September, and December.

Applications must be received by February 1, May 1, August 1, or November 1 to be considered.

Requests received later will be held until the next Board meeting.

If you are applying for a grant for an organization that has an alignment with The Daniel P. Amos Family Foundation, you may apply using the  process below.

 

  1. Applications for grants must be submitted online by clicking on the link below.

    1. You will need to first complete an Eligibility Quiz.​
      Invitees are provided an access code and/or able to complete the Eligibility Quiz.

    2. If you qualify, you will return to the "Apply" page and complete an application.

  2. If you are outside of the defined geographic area and feel that you align with the Guidelines and Priorities, you may submit a grant proposal. You will find the grant proposal listed on the "Apply" page.
    If approved and invited to do so by the Amos Family Board of Trustees, you will then be able to submit a grant application.​

If your grant is approved, you may expect the following:
 

You will receive a letter with detail of the grant that was approved by the Board.


If the grant is denied:
 

You will receive a letter informing you that the request has been denied.
